  1. Hi cyber mom :-) Just popped over to see whats doin. I love orange – can;t wear it cause im a winter..or is it spring..huh..but its a great color. Perfect ode and go you for finding the rhyming words – making them up where necessary whatever to give orange it’s due. ♥

    • My dear Lizzie!!! Oh how nice to see you!!! Orange is the greatest color ever. It’s the happiest color and has the best sense of humor, don’t you think? Gosh it’s nice to see you Lizzie. I hope all is well with your kids and I hope you are enjoying the heck out of your grandbabies!!! ,<3! Mom

    • Aha! A Melange!! What a great word to go with orange! An Orange Melange. That would make a great character name, wouldn’t it? How about Detective Orange Melange?

  2. Knock knock.
    Who’s there?
    Banana.
    Banana who?
    Knock knock.
    Who’s there?
    Banana.
    Banana who?
    Knock knock.
    Who’s there?
    Orange.
    Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn’t say banana?

  3. I admire anyone Linda who attempts to rhyme orange. Must be a terrrible life for orange to know the best poetic effort of all time will be your very valiant effort. Well done.

  4. I think Pete Townshend is a brilliant lyricist. He doesn’t do the usual rhyme scheme; he’s more inventive than that; he comes up with a word or words that have the same tone or feel to them. So, I’d betcha that Pete could find a word or phrase that worked. As it stands, you’ve done about the best that we mere mortals can do.

  5. An orange heart!!! This will alter civilization as we know it!! Every Valentine card will have to be scrapped and reprinted with the true color of love– Orange!!

I grew up hearing two things over and over:

    1) Eat your fishsticks, there are thousands of penguins starving in Antarctica, and
    2) No other word rhymes with Orange

I’m still not sure about the penguins, but now I know that #2 is utterly FALSE!! A thoroughly enlightening post, my dear Linda– thank you!! : )

    • Ahah! I knew there was a reason you turned out to be the way you are. Any household that encourages their children to eat their fish sticks as a show of solidarity to the penguin community AND whose main topic of conversation is that nothing rhymes with orange is my kind of household! I’ve never felt closer to you than I do right now, Markie MacGiggles!
